News and Notices
Final reminder: Women's Breakfast this Saturday 12th September.
The theme for the breakfast is 'My Life Journey'.  We will be joined by Jude Parkin, who will share testimony and stories about seeking Jesus and finding him amongst the busyness of life.  This talk will be appropriate for non Christians friends to join, as Jude talks about her life journey from career, to 12 years looking after the children at home and then the juggle of returning to work.  Her passion is knowing who we are in Christ and living out life from that position, she will speak to our identity and roots and in Jesus.  Please do bring a friend and come and join us, we will be adding sausages to the hot breakfast options, alongside the bacon and/or egg roll and continental offerings.  We are looking forward to seeing you. Churchdown Zero will be available in the large hall after the 10.30 service selling cleaning products in reusable glass bottles. Return your empties and swap for full bottles.

REVIVAL PRAYER: Now 6.30pm

EVERY revival and movement of God has been preceded by prayer! A small group meets fortnightly on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at 6.30pm (new time), in the church to spend 1 hour in prayer asking God to move in our church, community and nation. We'd love you to join us. Everyone is welcome, there is no pressure or expectation to pray out loud or long eloquent prayers, we just want to see God's kingdom come.

Men's Breakfast
Our next breakfast takes place on Saturday 19th September 8.30am -10am. The topic of our talk is "No shame, no secrets- let's talk about porn" To sign up, please visit Men's Breakfast (19-Sep-2026) · ChurchSuite Events

Bible Course 2026
We will be running the Bible Society's excellent Bible Course again this year, with an option for evening (Thursday) or day-time (Friday morning). The course is good for people new to Christianity, ideal as a follow-on from Alpha or for mature Christians wanting to increase their understanding of the Bible.  Over 8 weeks it explores all the books of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, looking at why the books were written, key themes, writing styles and how they all lead us to a greater understanding of the salvation work of Jesus. The course runs for eight weeks from Thursday 1st October (7:30 to 9:00pm) and Friday 2nd October (10:00 to 11:30am) , using videos and group discussion. The cost is £10 for a course manual. Sign-up is available at (add link). For more information please contact Neil Carne (alpha@stastb.church).

Giving at St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's
Generous giving is an integral part of Christian discipleship. The apostle Paul says that giving is a primary responsibility for Christians: 'But since you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7. For more information on how to give and where your money goes please download our giving flyer here.

Pastoral Care
As part of our Christian community, we provide mutual support for one another. Much of this happens informally with friends within the church and through the connect groups. However, sometimes people will require more personal support and encouragement either as a 'one-off chat' or on a more ongoing basis. For a conversation with someone on our Pastoral Care Team contact the office admin@stastb.church or phone 01452 712154 during office hours.  For issues concerning safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable adults, see our website https://www.stastb.church/safeguarding For other useful contacts including Gloucester Adults helpdesk, Domestic abuse support services, Samaritans or Gloucester NHS Crisis team, visit https://gloucester.anglican.org/about-us/safeguarding/contacts/
