News and Notices
Friday Kitchen - Just a quick note to let you know that there will be no Friday Kitchen on 24 July, as we've unfortunately had to cancel. We are sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding. We hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing summer break, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
With best wishes, Sue E
A final reminder that on Sunday 26th July, we will be holding a special Eucharist service at St Bart's at 5pm. As part of this service, we would like to celebrate the gift of marriage so there will be an opportunity to join together with other couples to reaffirm the marriage vows we made both recently or many years ago.
Please note that you don't need to book or confirm attendance and the service is not exclusively for couples - all are welcome and we would love to see you.
Refreshments will be available following the service.
New Wine '26
Each year a large number of our church head to New Wine which is a Christian conference in Shepton Mallet with 14,000 Christians! There are still day passes available if you would like to come down and see what it's all about Book Now — New Wine Festival. All the detail details you need to know are on the website. The dates are 28th July - 2nd August!
Holiday Club - Don't forget to sign up your children to St Andrews Jungle Explorers Holiday Club for ages 4-11 running from the 18th-20th August - Holiday Club (18-Aug-2026) · ChurchSuite Events. We'll be doing crafts, experiments, cooking, games and more as we trek through the jungle looking for a long lost message from the prophet Isaiah. We also need volunteers to help with refreshments, set up and looking after the children over the 3 days - if you're able to help with holiday club on any of the dates we're running, please contact Kate by emailing children@stastb.church
Women's breakfast - Please save the date for the next Women's Breakfast 09:00-10:30 on Saturday September 12th. Sign up here: Women's Breakfast (12-Sep-2026) · ChurchSuite Events
For Impact Weekend on Saturday 10th October we would like to offer our support to the community. This was well received last year with jobs including garden tidying, DIY jobs etc. Please let Gaz in the office know if you have a neighbour or project that we can consider supporting this year. Jobs will be carried out between 2pm and 4pm. Likewise, if you would like to volunteer please speak to Gaz.
Save the date for Women's Day 2027 - The 2027 Women's Day will be on 6th March 2027, please save the date and share it with the women around you. We will be joined by the amazing Hellie Glynn, to understand more about her we encourage you to listen to a recent podcast in which she was interviewed, titled 'Hearing God'.
If you would like to include any updates in the weekly bulletin, send them to admin@stastb.church. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday at 1pm.
Giving at St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's
Generous giving is an integral part of Christian discipleship. The apostle Paul says that giving is a primary responsibility for Christians: 'But since you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7. For more information on how to give and where your money goes please download our giving flyer here.

Pastoral Care
As part of our Christian community, we provide mutual support for one another. Much of this happens informally with friends within the church and through the connect groups. However, sometimes people will require more personal support and encouragement either as a 'one-off chat' or on a more ongoing basis. For a conversation with someone on our Pastoral Care Team contact the office admin@stastb.church or phone 01452 712154 during office hours. For issues concerning safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable adults, see our website https://www.stastb.church/safeguarding For other useful contacts including Gloucester Adults helpdesk, Domestic abuse support services, Samaritans or Gloucester NHS Crisis team, visit https://gloucester.anglican.org/about-us/safeguarding/contacts/
