Join us for the last Encounter service at St Andrew's this Sunday evening at 6pm
As mentioned last week, we offer a special thank you to Jen and Mark Golledge, Matt and Moira Perrin and Lynda and Simon Britton for their wise and inspiring leadership as part of the team. Thank you also to all who have helped facilitate these services as we took time to encounter God's presence in worship, prayer and sharing with each other. Finally, thank you all for your ongoing prayers as we continue to discern the Lord's will as a Church in this new season. Revd John Monaghan
Churches Together in Churchdown and Innsworth
As a church we contribute a small amount of money each year to Churches Together in Churchdown and Innsworth. This means we can collectively fund joint outreach activities and events in our local community. This year we have purchased and given out the Scripture Union book 'It's Your Move' to all the Yr 6 leavers in our 4 local schools. Our next big event is happening on Saturday 18th July when we will have a stall at the Parish Council organised Fun Day in the Park (12 – 4pm). We will promote activities from each of our churches that are organised for children, families and young people. We will also be offering the 9 Square game for people to have a go, kindly provided by Youth for Christ. Do come along to the park to join in the fun and please support us in prayer as we seek to engage with the local community.
Friday Kitchen - Just a quick note to let you know that there will be no Friday Kitchen on 24 July, as we've unfortunately had to cancel. We are sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding. We hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing summer break, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Calling all married couples - On Sunday 26th July, we will be holding a special Eucharist service at St Bart's at 5pm. As part of this service, we would like to celebrate the gift of marriage so there will be an opportunity to join together with other couples to reaffirm the marriage vows we made both recently or many years ago.
Please note that the service is not exclusively for couples - all are welcome and we would love to see you.
Could you host an intern?
As our current interns prepare to begin the next chapter of their ministry at the end of July, we are delighted to be welcoming applications for a new group of interns to join us from September.
Some applicants may be relocating to the area, so we're looking for people who may be able to offer them a place to stay. Could you, or someone you know, provide accommodation for an intern?

New Wine '26
Each year a large number of our church head to New Wine which is a Christian conference in Shepton Mallet with 14,000 Christians! There are still day passes available if you would like to come down and see what it's all about Book Now — New Wine Festival. All the detail details you need to know are on the website. The dates are 28th July - 2nd August!
For Impact Weekend on Saturday 10th October we would like to offer our support to the community. This was well received last year with jobs including garden tidying, DIY jobs etc. Please let Gaz in the office know if you have a neighbour or project that we can consider supporting this year. Jobs will be carried out between 2pm and 4pm. Likewise, if you would like to volunteer please speak to Gaz.

Stay ahead of the curve and help your children navigate the online world safely and to their advantage.
Our kids are facing a whole new level of complexity as they grow up in a turbulent digital world.
Bullying, screen time, porn, deep fakes, disinformation, lessening attention span, the rise of AI and VR … these are just some of the issues our children are facing online. The enormity of these parenting challenges can be overwhelming; but we can't afford to ignore them and they are issues we have the power to tackle.
We need to remember, if we're not talking to our children about the world, then someone else is.
The last thing we want to do is scare parents about the impact technology is having on their children or pile on any guilt. There's plenty of that out there already. But we don't want to shy away from the problems either. It's never too late to establish healthy digital boundaries with your children – whatever their age. Sign up below...

Green Tip for this week: It might look a mess to us, but leaving an area of your garden to 'wild' will seem like paradise to bees and insects and allow them the thrive.

Generous giving is an integral part of Christian discipleship. The apostle Paul says that giving is a primary responsibility for Christians: 'But since you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7. As part of our Christian community, we provide mutual support for one another. Much of this happens informally with friends within the church and through the connect groups. However, sometimes people will require more personal support and encouragement either as a 'one-off chat' or on a more ongoing basis.
