News and Notices
Peter Clarkson - Peter's funeral service has now been confirmed and will take place at St Bartholomew's Church on Thursday 24th September at 1.00pm. Further details will follow in due course.
Chris Porter - Chris's thanksgiving service and cremation will take place at 2.30pm at Willow Chapel, Cheltenham Crematorium, on Tuesday 8th September 2026.
Everyone is welcome to attend the service. There is no dress code — please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and happy.
After the service, those who would like to join us are warmly invited back to the family home at 19 Brookfield Road, Churchdown, Gloucester GL3 2PQ. We expect to arrive at the house from around 4.15pm.

There is some parking available on the road, as well as a large car park behind Churchdown Club, just around the corner.

Women's Breakfast - Saturday September 12th 09:00-10:30
Jude Parkin will be our speaker at the Women's Breakfast. A mum of three, Jude keeps busy juggling family life alongside her work in the community, running a community café and food pantry in Cheltenham that supports people in need. She and her husband Jon have been part of their church community at St Paul's Church in Cheltenham for many years, preaching, leading home groups and helping with Kids' Church and Youth. Jude has a real heart for people knowing who they are in Jesus. Please do invite your friends to this breakfast, we want this to be open for those who are not Christians - there is always an extra seat at the table for those who do life with us, outside of the church context. Please reflect who you can extend the invite to, be bold in inviting them and sign up here Women's Breakfast (12-Sep-2026) · ChurchSuite Events Save the date for Women's Day 2027 - The 2027 Women's Day will be on 6th March 2027, please save the date and share it with the women around you. We will be joined by the amazing Hellie Glynn, to understand more about her we encourage you to listen to a recent podcast in which she was interviewed, titled 'Hearing God'.

Impact Weekend 2026 (09-Oct-2026) · ChurchSuite Events
This is the last chance to register for the Celtic Christianity course with Gateway Theology School!
This is a daytime course, starting this Wednesday, 9th Sept. 10-12am here at St Andrew's, and runs for 5 sessions. There's no cost, it's a donation basis.
If you have any interest in Celtic Christianity - or if you just like Celtic crosses but have no idea what their background is - then come and join in.
The course covers aspects like Celtic history, sprirituality, monasticism, and hospitality, along with its unique art and poetry - exploring what we might still learn today from this ancient Christian tradition. We'll even conclude by designing our own Celtic worship service.

ChurchSuite Support - During our recent ChurchSuite surgery, a number of people said they didn't know how to communicate with other members on the same rota e.g. to swap a duty.
So, I thought I would include the below to explain the process. You can also click to delve deeper...
Members on a ChurchSuite rota can contact one another through the rota's communication features. They can view a rota Teams member list, which shows contact details of fellow rota members, and use the Email members button to send a private group email to all rota members to inquire about swaps. This allows for a relational approach to swapping duties, ensuring that all members are aware of each other's availability and can facilitate swaps easily.
If you would like to include any updates in the weekly bulletin, send them to admin@stastb.church. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday at 1pm.

Something broken? Remember that at St Johns church every 2nd Saturday in the month is a repair cafe where they can try and fix your stuff. Don't immediately throw something away, try and fix is first.

The apostle Paul says that giving is a primary responsibility for Christians: 'But since you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7. As part of our Christian community, we provide mutual support for one another. Much of this happens informally with friends within the church and through the connect groups. However, sometimes people will require more personal support and encouragement either as a 'one-off chat' or on a more ongoing basis.
