News and Notices

New staff appointments

We are delighted to announce that Jared Williams has been appointed as Worship Pastor and Gaz Moseley as Administration & Communications Coordinator. They both join the church team on 1 June.

"Hello! I'm Jared. I'm married to Sarah, and among us we have five children, ranging from 14 down to Delia Rose who was born at home this week. We've been coming to St. Andrew's for about two years so it's a real joy to be stepping into this role as Worship Pastor.

I've previously served in churches in Loughborough and Bristol, and through my work with United Bible Societies I've had the chance to lead the sung worship in a variety of cultures and languages and shaped how I think about worship as something bigger than any one style or setting. I'm excited for the season ahead, serving with our amazing team of volunteers, and helping us grow in our love for and walk with Jesus."

"Hello my name is Gareth (Gaz), and I will shortly be joining the team as your new Administrator and Communications Coordinator. I very much look forward to meeting you all. Please don't hesitate to come and say hello—though I may need a gentle reminder of names from time to time!

I currently hold a similar position in the Parish of Winchcombe, and I am excited to bring my experience and skills to serve the community in Churchdown. I am married to Ali, and we have two children, Olivia (15) and Theo (13). We live in Longlevens with our deaf white cat, Pearl. Music plays an important part in my life—I am an organist, pianist, and drummer. I'm confident that, with the support and guidance of the team, my transition into this role will be a smooth one. I am truly looking forward to being with you, worshipping with you and serving our Lord alongside you."

Giving at St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's

Generous giving is an integral part of Christian discipleship. The apostle Paul says that giving is a primary responsibility for Christians: 'But since you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7. For more information on how to give and where your money goes please download our giving flyer here.

Pastoral Care

As part of our Christian community, we provide mutual support for one another. Much of this happens informally with friends within the church and through the connect groups. However, sometimes people will require more personal support and encouragement either as a 'one-off chat' or on a more ongoing basis. We have a pastoral care team who can provide this type of care. Please contact Nigel Roe (Team Leader) on 07780 994827 or Rosi White on 07426 357967.
