The Bereavement Journey
The Bereavement Journey® is a 7-week course incorporating a series of films and discussion (created by Holy Trinity Brompton many years ago) which gently guides people through the varied aspects of grief and bereavement, enabling participants to process the implications for themselves and discern next steps.

It looks at topics such as separation and loss, the pain of bereavement, anger and guilt, coping with others' reactions, adjusting to change, and so on. It is for anyone who has been bereaved at any time and in any way, and is suitable for those of all faiths or none. There is an optional seventh week concerned with questions about faith in bereavement from a Christian perspective.

The course will be running at St Andrew's Church, Churchdown, on Tuesdays, 7.30–9.30pm, starting 5th May 2026.

For more information, please speak to Sarah Smith (07964 895477) or Catherine Rowland (07531 197510).

Thursday Knitting Group Sale & Churchdown Zero
On Sunday 15 March, the Thursday Knitting Group will be holding a sale of knitwear in the Large Hall after both services. All proceeds go directly to the Gloucester Foodbank, run by The Trussell Trust.

Please note that Churchdown Zero will be one week later than normal, so we will also be meeting at church on 15 March.

Open the Book
Open the Book is an organisation that equips small teams of church volunteers across the UK to go into local schools, sharing the Good News of the Gospel through acting out Bible stories with children.

The St Andrew's Open the Book team go into the junior school every Wednesday morning and have a great time sharing Bible stories in fun and engaging ways.

We need more volunteers to keep this going! If you could help weekly or fortnightly, please get in touch with Kate by emailing children@stastb.church for more information.

Safeguarding Update
Corinne is standing down as Parish Safeguarding Officer after three years of faithful service. We are very grateful for the expertise and care she has brought to the role.

In the interim, the safeguarding team remains well supported: John, Jamie, and Kate (for under-18s) will continue in their roles, with Sue Francis and Debi Parry providing administrative support. The Wardens will assume overall safeguarding responsibility until a replacement Parish Safeguarding Officer is appointed.

The safeguarding@stastb.church email remains the contact point for any queries or concerns.

Please pray for the appointment of a new Parish Safeguarding Officer, and speak to the Vicar if you would like to explore the role further.

If you would like to include any updates in the weekly bulletin, send them to Adam. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday at 1pm.

Giving at St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's
Generous giving is an integral part of Christian discipleship. The apostle Paul says that giving is a primary responsibility for Christians: 'But since you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7. For more information on how to give and where your money goes please download our giving flyer here.

Pastoral Care
As part of our Christian community, we provide mutual support for one another. Much of this happens informally with friends within the church and through the connect groups. However, sometimes people will require more personal support and encouragement either as a 'one-off chat' or on a more ongoing basis. We have a pastoral care team who can provide this type of care. Please contact Nigel Roe (Team Leader) on 07780 994827 or Rosi White on 07426 357967.
