News and Notices
New pastoral care coordinator to start Sunday 1st November.
We are really pleased to announce that Linda Wright will be starting in her new role as pastoral care coordinator. She will be employed 15 hours a week. Lynda introduces herself below:
"Hi, I'm Lynda, wife to an ex-military husband, mum to a daughter at University, and a son in his GCSE year. We have a crazy cockerpoo called Dora, and love family walks in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. I have done many jobs in my life, and felt God calling me into care and pastoral work. I'm really looking forward to meeting you all, and serving our Lord Jesus together."
We are looking forward to her joining us at St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's.
Christmas Coffee Morning - The Friends of St Bartholomew's are hosting a Christmas coffee and mince pie morning on Tuesday 17th November in St Andrew’s Large Hall between 10.30am and 12noon.
There will be cakes, a raffle, Christmas cards and other stalls. Tickets are £2 per person and available from St Andrew's Church Centre.
Young Adults Ministry - We are exploring a new ministry specifically for young adults. If this is of interest to you, please come along to the lounge at 12.15pm on Sunday 1st November to find out more or speak to Jamie.
Please support our Christian family in Africa.
Open Doors tell us each day an average of 12 Christians are killed for their faith in sub-Saharan Africa.
Of course many more Christians suffer various forms of persecution for their faith.
Please sign the petition for protection, justice and restoration which will be presented to governments, the EU, UN and African Union
You can sign on-line (by 2nd November), or Anna Townsend will have paper copies available on Sunday services 18th and 25th October

Giving at St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's
Generous giving is an integral part of Christian discipleship. The apostle Paul says that giving is a primary responsibility for Christians: 'But since you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7. For more information on how to give and where your money goes please download our giving flyer here.

Pastoral Care
As part of our Christian community, we provide mutual support for one another. Much of this happens informally with friends within the church and through the connect groups. However, sometimes people will require more personal support and encouragement either as a 'one-off chat' or on a more ongoing basis. For a conversation with someone on our Pastoral Care Team contact the office admin@stastb.church or phone 01452 712154 during office hours. For issues concerning safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable adults, see our website https://www.stastb.church/safeguarding For other useful contacts including Gloucester Adults helpdesk, Domestic abuse support services, Samaritans or Gloucester NHS Crisis team, visit https://gloucester.anglican.org/about-us/safeguarding/contacts/
