St Bart's 850th Anniversary Celebrations
The Chairman and Committee of the Friends of St Bartholomew's Church would like to thank everyone who contributed to the recent Open Weekend in so many different ways, helping to make it a very successful event. Several hundred people visited the church, explored the exhibitions, listened to the bells, and enjoyed refreshments. The Choral Evensong, with music from an expanded choir, was a very special experience for the congregation of 105, and a fitting start to the church's anniversary year.
CAMEO Lunch Club
There is availability for new members at the CAMEO Lunch Club (Come And Meet Each Other). We meet once a month for a two-course meal and light entertainment such as a quiz, musical performance or talk, in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. If you are of pensionable age and either attend St Andrew's or St Bartholomew's, or live in Churchdown, we would love you to join us.
For more information, please contact Mrs Margaret Thomas on 01452 712967 or 07767 425483.
Revival Prayer Nights
Recently, several in the congregation have felt a growing call to pray for God to bring revival in Churchdown. On Sunday evenings when there is no Encounter service, we will gather at 7.00pm at St Andrew's to pray from a place of praise and worship.
The next Revival Prayer Nights will be on 14th and 28th September. Please join us as we pray for God's work in our village and surrounding communities.
Out of the Ashes – Livestream
Join us for another Out of the Ashes livestream on Thursday 12th September. You can watch via theattic.outoftheashesmusic.uk.
If you would like to include any updates in the weekly bulletin, send them to Adam. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday at 1pm.
Giving at St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's
Generous giving is an integral part of Christian discipleship. The apostle Paul says that giving is a primary responsibility for Christians: 'But since you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7. For more information on how to give and where your money goes please download our giving flyer here.

Pastoral Care
As part of our Christian community, we provide mutual support for one another. Much of this happens informally with friends within the church and through the connect groups. However, sometimes people will require more personal support and encouragement either as a 'one-off chat' or on a more ongoing basis. We have a pastoral care team who can provide this type of care. Please contact Nigel Roe (Team Leader) on 07780 994827 or Rosi White on 07426 357967.
