Many couples choose to get married at St Andrew’s or St Bartholomew’s each year. All wedding couples are invited to attend a ‘wedding morning’ at St Andrew’s in January, covering all the practical aspects of the wedding day. Each couple will also have an interview with the minister who will conduct their wedding.

But, preparing to get married is more than sorting out the wedding day! In the busyness of organising a wedding, one of the hardest things for couples is to take time out and focus on their relationship, and on what the life-long commitment of their marriage vows really means.

So, in addition to the wedding morning, all couples attend two ‘marriage preparation days’. We use a marriage preparation course, which covers very practical issues, including commitment, communication and resolving conflict. There will be a chance to spend time with other wedding couples over coffee and lunch (provided), but in the sessions themselves you only have to talk to your partner!
